Last weekend, I was lucky enough to see my very best friend, and her little sprout Stella (pictured above on her FIRST birthday) who is going to be 2 this month. This week, my girl Caroline just had her first baby, and entered the mommy club too.
It’s such a strange thing to watch the women you went dancing with, morph into mothers. It’s amazing- I’m not knocking it. They both seem to have retained their own unique sparkle while balancing diapers, spit-up, and sleepless nights, with independent movies, concerts, reading the newspaper, and actually getting showered in the morning.
Caroline and Suzanne have always been inspirations for me. Career women who love art, music, travel, and their families with every ounce. Their grace in the transformation to motherhood is dazzling. I only hope that I can make them as proud as they make me when I apply for mommy club membership
