Washington DC

December 3, 2009 By radmegan 4 Comments

Last month, the husband and I went to Washington DC. This heart graffiti was found on a metal patch that was nailed to a tree just outside the White House gates. There were so many monuments, and museums- just the HISTORY in DC!! Whew! I could post any number of recognizable icons, but I’m sharing this weathered heart, because while in DC, I felt more appreciative, healthy, happy, safe, and patriotic than I thought I would.

The history of DC can be so overwhelming at first! But as you learn more about how each piece fits into the puzzle of America’s rich history it begins to paint a picture not dissimilar to the photo of graffiti you’ve posted here. A chaotic beginning that’s moving towards a center of love!
