Sunset is a magical hour for photography. The light is warm with reds and oranges. When I was living on the beach in Ventura and home for such optimal lighting I took this self-portrait. I was sick with worry over someone close to me, so while I waited for the phone-call that would make everything better, I painted up my entire face with eye-shadow and got out my camera. The tear-streaking is close to the actual color of the eye shadow. The rest was painted on purple and turned copper in the light.
